Who I am⌗

I am Vladyslav Rovnyi, a final-year Applied Computer Science student at Howest University of Applied Sciences, specialising in Cybersecurity. I am focused on security engineering, infrastructure security and system administration.

Technical work outside the programme⌗

Things I built or ran on my own initiative, outside of coursework.

  • Why I Chose Debian 13 for My VPS — choosing and running my own server: stability, the package ecosystem, and what I host on it
  • hesi.io — a browser game I built and put into production, with a security-first backend (Argon2id auth, rotating refresh tokens with reuse detection, CSRF and rate limiting, server-authoritative economy, signature-verified payment webhooks)
